“Hidden Thoughts” represents the things within our minds which cannot be detected by others. The figure’s face is expressionless because it is thinking and reflecting on these thoughts. The doorway is dark on one side and appears to have another portal, signifying dark thoughts, while the other half is brighter and leads to the open world. The upper half of the painting represents some of the other thoughts within the mind that are obvious to some, however, ignored by others. Sometimes the thoughts of others are right there in our faces, yet we tend not to see them for whatever reasons.
