Contest: Abstract Lucidity needs a new Logo!

People often ask me about the name of my business, Abstract Lucidity, and how I came up with it. I think it’s important to find a name that fits exactly what you do. I wanted something that completely reflected my work so I was brainstorming one day and came up with Abstract Lucidity.

Abstract Lucidity

Why Abstract Lucidity?

The word Abstract refers to being outside of concrete thinking. I feel that both my paintings and my photography reflect a little bit out of the norm (or at least it did when I named the business in 2007). I’m also a writer, and I’ve published a few books.

Lucidity refers to being easily understood. In a way, I suppose the two words together could mean quite the opposite for some people, but for me, Abstract Lucidity refers to thinking outside of the box yet being clear about the intention.

I came up with this logo a few years ago, but I’d really like to find a different one. ALP refers to Abstract Lucidity Photography and/or Abstract Lucidity Publishing and/or Abstract Lucidity Productions. But now I just want to stick with Abstract Lucidity on its own so that I can be flexible.

I invite anyone that can design something in Photoshop to take a look at my work and design a logo I can use – one that reflects what I do. It doesn’t have to be complicated. I do like color; however, I would also need a plain version to use as a watermark. Winner gets $50 cash and recognition.
