One thing I really love about teaching is that I am also constantly learning new things. Luckily, I don’t have to abide by a state-mandated curriculum, which leaves lesson planning quite open and free. The good part is the freedom. The hard part is that I tend to put a lot more hours into my work than I get paid to do. Either way, I really enjoy my job.
I just started introducing my students to stop-motion animation. I begin by showing them short videos and clips so they get a general idea of what to make or do. This video happens to be a favorite among students and my own personal favorite. The details of the illustration and cut-outs are incredible – and the song (by Massimo Giangrande) is catchy, too!
Yesterday I posted some photos of Grotto Hill, located on the same grounds as San Xavier del Bac Mission. I have never been inside of a holy place with so many interesting things to look at. I have several more photos not posted on this blog that you can see here.
