Bucket List: Paul McCartney – Live Concert

I am determined to make an actual bucket list soon, but for now I have a few things pinned in my brain – especially concerts of aging musicians. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I really appreciated The Beatles, but now I can’t get enough.

It was the second night in a row of a sold out show, but Paul McCartney is not the typical 70-year-old.  Starting out with “Eight Days a Week” and ending with “Yesterday,” Paul played many of The Beatles songs and music from Wings, as well as his own. The audience loved him (you can hear people around me singing along), and with two encores, Paul McCartney rocked the house.

I took these videos with my iPhone… at the very top seat of the house. If I ever get a chance to see Paul McCartney live in concert again, I will be getting closer seats. Then I can cross that one off of my bucket list. :)

Disney’s Epcot Spring Fairy Garden

I don’t care how old I am; I love Disney! It really is a magical place. Although it’s completely overpriced, if you’re a Florida resident you can often get great deals. I would love to go every year if I could. :)

These pictures are from a few years ago at Epcot’s Spring Fairy Garden. It’s a truly fascinating exhibit. Everything is made of flowers and plants.

Inspirational Poster: The Light in the Darkness

"Even in the darkness, when you look closely enough you can see a bit of light shining through."  ~ Shannon Hart Hudnell

Have you ever been in a room of complete darkness, but once your eyes adjust you find that you can see? Or perhaps there is a tiny bit of light coming through a crack in a door or a slightly opened curtain exposing moonlight?

Today I learned that a friend committed suicide. I am deeply saddened that someone I thought of as a beautiful, intelligent, talented, and great mom was in such a dark place in her life that she didn't see any other way out. We could all use a few kind words to see the light.

Tired vs Keeping Up

I’ve made a tremendous amount of changes in my life over the last two years. These are major life changes that mainly involve moving to another land and changing careers, not to mention the lack of sleep. (When all of this is added up, I scored a 620 on this stress test.)

Eventually, the lack of sleep gets to me. I’m not a daytime sleeper or nap taker, but on rare occasions if I do nap, it means my body is shutting down. I have learned to listen to what my body tells me.

Cats have it made.

I have to keep reminding myself to be at one with nature, because in this digital age, we tend to get caught up in reading things online or otherwise finding things that take up time (i.e. Youtube videos). I’ve noticed I’ve become less interested in being creative (or blogging) or taking beach walks and more interested in doing mindless things (i.e. watching Youtube videos or playing my online garden game). Why is this? Is this a sign of being completely worn out?

Sometimes we all need a little rest.

Now I suppose I must make another change in my life that requires me to force myself into a routine of doing better things for myself. Taking beach walks is usually a pretty good start, because it’s refreshing and clears my head.

A little beach walk goes a long way.

Word a Week Photo Challenge – Hat

Participating in photo challenges is a great way to get the creative juices flowing. One of the weekly challenges I found is from “A Word in Your Ear“. The photographer presents a word a week, and participants post what the word means to them.

This week’s challenge word is hat. Who looks best in hats? Children and pets, of course!

Wild Weekly Photo Challenge – Reflections

Mirrored city buildings are a great way to capture both the architecture and its surroundings while also allowing creativity. Getting into the right position or angle can be a challenge, however.

I found some great places in Boston to “reflect” what I am talking about. :)
