Free – Self Portrait

This was part 2 in a series of 3 graphite drawings I drew in college. I didn’t intend for them to be self portraits, but in hindsight, I cannot see how they were not.

In this drawing, a young woman is distraught over the loss of her love. Why did he go? Was he ever hers to keep? The poem below it is “Free” by Danielle Steele.
