Road Trip to Ancestry in South Carolina

A few years ago, I began my quest of ancestry research. I was fortunate to trace and have confirmed that my fifth great aunt is Dicey Langston, a badass Revolutionary War hero. Her sister, Selah, was my fifth great-grandmother, and her father, Solomon, was my 6th great grandfather. The entire line that traces back to this part of the family goes directly through through all of the women on my paternal grandmother’s side. “Aunt Dicey”, as I call her, has been honored with a monument by the Daughters of the American Revolution, along with recognition in history books.

This was tricky for me to find, as every set of directions that I found online stated that this monument is located on Old Tigerville Rd. There is no “old” Tigerville Road, just plain Tigerville Road, across the street from Enoree Church. Apparently, this is the property where Dicey lived before she died at age 71.
