What web do you weave?
The last few years have thrown huge life changing challenges to me. From moving across the sea and back, to being unemployed, changing careers twice and changing marital status, it seemed that every aspect had been turned upside down. Of course, my health was also affected due to the stress. It seemed as if I stepped backwards 20 years, because everything was completely new as if I were just starting out in life. I was not the same person I used to be; I had lost myself, and it didn’t feel very good at all. I was financially devastated and feeling pretty down, because I have high expectations of myself and felt I’m “too old” to be in this situation… that I “should be” at a particular place in life where this kind of thing doesn’t happen. Probably being too hard on myself and nearly giving up completely, I had lost hope… there was no light at the end of the tunnel. But I had to keep reminding myself that this can happen to anybody, and I met plenty of people that had been through similar situations.
I decided to write a list of things I wanted and needed. Mainly focusing on my needs, some of my list included: stability, financial security and independence, being appreciated, stress-free living, unlimited opportunities, and the ability to travel when and where as I please. After a few months, suddenly opportunities that I’d been waiting on for several years began to open up; I feel the biggest positive change has been my new job. I really enjoy what I do, and I had been craving the stability. With that, I could finally focus on what I really want out of life and how I can go about doing it. I’m still at my beginning stages, but it’s still a step farther than where I was.
With all of this in mind, I chose this challenge’s theme to be webs. We weave our own webs in life. Sometimes a bug comes along and shakes up our web or something comes along and breaks our web, but we can always rebuild. And sometimes a rainbow can be seen in the web if we look closely enough.
Hi Shannon! 🙂 it was a little challenging to pick some web photos because I really like to take photos of different webs, but here is my entry:

Thanks for sharing your journey with us and for the idea of a rainbow in a web. I don’t remember ever seeing one before.

Great rainbow shot. I like the angle on the last one too. I did a post once like that one calling it ‘what the bug sees just before the spider gets him.’ Some morbid humor, eh? My entry for today’s challenge took a different look at another type of web – http://wp.me/p3CFsE-2xZ
