Mayflower Replica & Plymouth Rock – Plymouth, Massachusetts
I just realized I haven’t posted in nearly 10 months! Work took over, but I was finally able to travel to Massachusetts recently.
This is a pretty fantastic thing to see in person. It’s not as large as expected, especially knowing that over 100 people were crammed on the Mayflower for the voyage from England to America more than 400 years ago. Many of the passengers and crew died due to the harsh winter weather conditions.
This is the famous Plymouth Rock, which I suspect is not really the “real” rock that is often discussed in history. It’s much smaller than expected.
I had a bit of a chuckle because I visited this rock as a child and was like “what? that’s it?!”
